Erwin Pieters (left) and Hugo de Jonge during a tour of the recycling plant in Sluiskil
Yesterday, the highest representative of the province of Zeeland (Netherlands), Hugo de Jonge, visited our recycling site in Sluiskil together with Regional Minister Wilfried Nielen. Erwin Pieters, the long-standing managing director of the Dutch company, personally gave a tour of the site and explained the recycling processes.
Our subsidiary HEROS Sluiskil B.V. is strongly committed to promoting a better understanding of the resource potential of waste incineration residues. As the market leader for IBA processing in the Benelux countries, the company’s experience and knowledge carry considerable weight. From the recycler’s point of view, the inclusion of residues from Energy-from-Waste plants is essential if the Netherlands is to achieve its circularity goals.
HEROS considers the visit to be positive, particularly in light of the current discussions about IBA washing, an issue on which the company already took a clear stance in its statement last year. Erwin Pieters, Managing Director of Heros Sluiskil B.V., comments:
“Just like Zeeland, HEROS sometimes has to fight particularly hard for its place. Just like Zeeland, HEROS also has a powerful story to tell. This creates perseverance and solidarity.”
