After ten years of operation at our incinerator bottom ash processing plant in Tuas, a new screen for the 0 to 50 mm grain size range has now been installed. It separates the material flow into grain size lines of 0-15 mm and 15-50 mm. The original screen has been replaced with the LIWELL model from HEIN, LEHMANN GmbH. Compared to its predecessor, it features new drive technology with higher energy efficiency and a better carbon footprint.
A total of eleven days were scheduled for the work. As the REMEX plant in Singapore only has a storage capacity of seven days, the plant was allowed to be shut down for a maximum of four days. This was achieved by carrying out the necessary preparatory work while the plant was still in operation. The new screen was ready for operation right on schedule, and the plant is now back to full capacity.
