OptiBlend® is ideal for applications in the construction and infrastructure sector. Compared to traditional soil stabilisation methods, the new material enables significantly faster consolidation of the subsoil – an advantage that not only reduces construction time but also has a positive impact on the cost-effectiveness of projects. Depending on the project location, the material is either delivered just-in-time or produced directly on site using mobile mixing plants. As a result, OptiBlend® offers a high degree of flexibility in application.
Cooperation of two experienced partners
The new building material was developed in a collaboration between Dutch construction company Van de Beeten B.V. and REMEX subsidiary HEROS Sluiskil B.V. HEROS supplies GRANOVA®, the certified secondary aggregates for the mixture. The end product is supplied as a dry premix.
HEROS has been part of the REMEX Group since 2012. The company operates one of Europe’s largest plants for processing bottom ash from Energy-from-Waste plants. The residues are used to produce substitute construction materials which are used e. g. in asphalt and concrete. The ferrous and non-ferrous metals recovered during processing are further treated at the plants in Sluiskil and Harderwijk at the HEROS subsidiary Dolphin Metal Separation B.V.

„OptiBlend® is another example of innovative material development using processed bottom ash, enabling new ways of building and faster, more cost-effective and sustainable solutions.“
