Last week at the Haus Forst landfill site in Kerpen, we felt the full force of the local storms that followed the heatwave: gale-force winds and heavy rain coincided with the ongoing construction work at the site. As a result, a section of the waterproofing had to be repaired. The film shows how the clay layer beneath the plastic membrane is smoothed out again, first with a shovel and then with a roller, until the clay shines like a mirror once more. Only then can the membrane be correctly positioned again and welded to the next section.

A short video clip showing the Cologne site, featuring the dismantling of the 45-tonne jaw crusher from the old plant. The new control room container is already in place.
