REMEX and MaC-Rock optimise screening bucket

Sifting, mixing and moving in one step

What began as a field trial in Bochum has developed into a successful partnership: REMEX and MaC-Rock have jointly developed a specialised version of a hydraulic screening bucket that can efficiently process even the most challenging soils. The solution is even suitable for processing minerals used in the production of liquid soil.

Convincing field test: MaC-Rock screening buckets in action

Whether in demolition, recycling, road construction or sewer works: a screening bucket can be used wherever construction machinery such as wheel loaders and excavators is employed. The tool developed by MaC-Rock immediately caught the attention of Dietmar Lakenberg and Marco Struck from REMEX: “Viewing the screening process as a holistic system – with optimised material flow, efficient screening technology and an integrated, low-wear and maintenance-friendly drive concept – sounded convincing to us.” The specialists from MaC-Rock and REMEX quickly agreed on a practical test on site.

“Our aim is to provide the right processing solution for every type of soil – as the ideal preparation for subsequent stages of the process.”

Advancement of the standard screening bucket

During the initial tests with soil samples in Bochum, it quickly became clear that the tasks at REMEX went well beyond the typical applications of a screening bucket. In particular, the highly cohesive and sticky clay soils placed the highest demands on the screening process. Working closely with REMEX, MaC-Rock made specific adjustments and optimisations to the screening bucket.

“With the upgraded screening bucket, we can process soil materials in our facility in Bochum within a very small space.”

Efficient processing for liquid soil

Today, the jointly developed solution is being used successfully in both Recklinghausen and Bochum to efficiently separate even the most difficult soils from stones and process them into liquid soil for further use. The development work has led to a close partnership between REMEX and MaC-Rock, based on practical innovation and continuous dialogue.

“An initial trial at the Bochum site quickly led to an extremely successful and trusting working relationship.”

Suitability for landfill construction

Both partners have already identified further technologies to be tested at the Recklinghausen site in the near future. Another bespoke MaC-Rock system is already in use in landfill construction – the technology is being employed there under demanding conditions and is delivering impressive results in this field of application as well.

About MaC-Rock GmbH

MaC-Rock GmbH was founded by Mathias Schnelting and Clemens Rickert. The two mechanical engineers act as managing directors of the company, which is based in Südlohn in the western Münsterland region. They are particularly interested in optimising soil preparation using flexible screening technology.
